Mercado Pago

Mercado Pago Unified is an all-in-one financial ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between high-volume merchants and everyday consumers. By merging a powerful seller backoffice with a streamlined digital wallet, the platform allows users to manage business sales, pay for daily services with a Nequi-style agility, and shop the Mercado Libre marketplace through a highly visual, immersive interface. It is a comprehensive tool for the modern entrepreneur who requires both financial management and lifestyle integration in one fluid experience.

The Vision: A Frictionless Financial Hub The core design challenge was to simplify complex financial operations while providing an engaging shopping experience. I implemented a "Switchable Core" architecture that allows users to move from deep administrative tasks to lifestyle purchasing without cognitive friction. Intelligent Backoffice & Active Billing: The "Cobros Activos" interface allows merchants to manage multiple pending transactions simultaneously. By providing a granular view of products—ranging from high-end electronics like the iPhone 14 Pro Max to sneakers—the backoffice transforms cold data into a visual inventory management tool.
Hardware-Free "Scan-to-Pay" Experience: To accelerate the point-of-sale process, I designed a high-fidelity scanning flow. Sellers can process payments by simply having customers "Insert or Slide" their cards against the device, utilizing integrated NFC and camera-scanning tech to confirm transactions instantly. Immersive Marketplace Integration: Moving away from traditional list-based shopping, the app features a "Visual Commerce" module. This allows users to browse Mercado Libre products via high-resolution galleries and interactive elements directly within the financial dashboard, making the transition from "Managing Money" to "Buying Goods" organic and fluid.
User Research & Competitive Analysis Market Intelligence To develop this ecosystem, I analyzed the friction points between current fintech leaders and e-commerce giants: The "Context Switching" Fatigue: Research indicated that small business owners find it cumbersome to switch between business management apps and personal banking tools.

Mercado Pago Unified solves this by creating a single source of truth for both revenue and personal spending. Instant Gratification in Payments: By studying platforms like Nequi, I identified that the most successful financial apps reduce "Time-to-Transaction." The "Realizar Nuevo Cobro" feature was designed to mimic the speed of a physical tap-to-pay transaction.
